Tohama Company for Engineering Inspection was officially selected to provide full inspection services for the TotalEnergies EP Ratawi Hub Project, located in Basra, Iraq. Services were delivered in coordination with key contracting entities including Al Nubalaa for General Contracts Ltd, IGCC, and TAAM Company.

Scope of Work by Tohama

Tohama provided a full range of technical inspection services across civil, mechanical, and welding operations. This included:

  • Civil laboratory testing

  • Destructive Testing (DT)

  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

  • Support in developing and qualifying Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)

  • Preparation of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)

1. Laboratory and Civil Testing Services

  • Concrete: Slump, compressive strength, core test, ultrasonic

  • Soil: Classification, compaction, CBR, Proctor

  • Asphalt: Marshall, mix design, viscosity, flash point

  • Aggregates: Sieve analysis, Los Angeles Abrasion, chloride/sulfate content

  • Water (Construction Use): pH, TDS, TSS

  • Steel: Rebar tensile, bend, and chemical composition tests

2. Mechanical, DT, and NDT Services

  • Destructive Testing (DT):

    • Tensile, bend, impact (Charpy), macro etch

    • Hardness (Leeb, HV10)

    • Positive Material Identification (PMI)

  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):

    • Visual Test (VT)

    • Penetrant Test (PT)

    • Magnetic Particle Test (MT)

    • Radiographic Test (RT)

    • Ultrasonic Test (UT)

  • All NDT personnel were ASNT Level II certified

3. Welding Procedure Services (PQR & WPS)

  • Development and qualification of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)

  • Execution of Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) with welding coupons

  • Visual inspection, mechanical testing, and NDT of weld samples

  • Compliance with ASME, AWS, and TotalEnergies standards

  • Full documentation and traceability submitted for client and contractor review

4. Quality Assurance and Compliance

Tohama ensured compliance with TotalEnergies’ Exhibits J and H and performed services under:

  • ISO 17025: Laboratory Testing and Calibration

  • ISO 9001: Quality Management System

  • On-site and off-site equipment calibration tracking
